THE CHALLENGE:
Fashion brand Sperry was looking for new ways to engage with GenZs with a collection of products inspired by pop culture and entertainment beloved by the generation. Known for its classic Top-Sider boat shoe, the brand wanted to evolve its seaside-inspired heritage into a modern story that appealed to this new generation of Sperry customers
THE SOLUTION:
PopLab developed a collaborative partnership with Sperry and Netflix for it's GenZ-focused hit series, "Outer Banks." Working with the creative team at Netflix, Sperry developed a capsule collection that reflected the show's fictional rivals, The Pogues and Kooks. The designs reimagined Sperry's classic Top-SIders and canvas slides, using the iconic elements from the show
RESULTS:
Almost a year in the making, the Sperry OBX collection was released to coincide with the series' highly-anticipated second season premier. PopLab led the launch with a press campaign that resulted in more than 8.1 Billion Impressions with coverage ranging from Footwear News, Yahoo, MSN, and NBC to Variety and J-14. The majority of the collection sold out in stores and online within weeks of the launch.
